Swale Academies Trust have an excellent track record in turning schools around in category and moving them to an Ofsted good rating.
We differ from many multi-academy trusts is that we seek to support individual schools to grow and develop their own good practice.
‘The Academies Trust has provided highly effective support to the school. As a result, leaders and managers, including governors, have led rapid improvements in achievement and teaching.’ Regis Manor Primary School, Ofsted report March 2014
Key features to our work include mentoring and developing leadership teams to enable them to focus and act upon things effectively and at the right time. The Trust develops existing teams of teachers and support staff through high quality professional development.
‘The Swale Academies Trust provides regular and helpful support to the academy. It carries out regular external reviews of teaching to corroborate the findings of school leaders. The trust’s Principal visits the academy weekly to provide valuable support for the Headteacher. Leaders and teachers have opportunities to learn from others in the trust.’ Meopham School, Ofsted report November 2014
It is noticeable that in all of the schools we have developed, the majority of the staff who were present when the school fell into crisis are still there at the point when the school emerges from its difficulties.
The Trust is now in the position, subject to examination outcomes, to grow and has the capacity to take on additional Primary and Secondary schools, subject to the fulfilment of our Key Principles.
